Snowmelt-fed San Miguel River rapids await you on our four-hour guided rafting trips in Telluride. Operating from May through June, we navigate the 9.5-mile stretch known as "boogie water," where the river plunges from the San Juan Mountains through San Miguel and Norwood canyons. You will paddle through Class I-III or I-IV whitewater, enjoying the contrast between lush riparian ecosystems and brilliant red sandstone walls. Our service includes a safety orientation, personal flotation devices, and shuttle transportation back to M&M Mercantile, where we meet 15 to 20 minutes before your start time. Since cell phone coverage is spotty, we leave promptly. You must bring sturdy footwear like old tennis shoes and rent a wetsuit for $15, as flip-flops are not permitted. During the three hours on the water, we pull over for a riverside snack before returning you to your car. This is a perfect way to experience the action-packed flow of the river with expert guides leading the way.
