Angel of Shavano Campground

The Angel of Shavano Campground anchors the gateway to the Pike-San Isabel National Forests, offering Salida residents and visitors direct access to over 440,000 acres of public land. This facility sits within the Salida Ranger District, home to seven fourteeners including Harvard, Tabeguache, Yale, Columbia, Shavano, Princeton, and Antero. Campers utilize the site as a base for mountain biking, horseback riding, and fishing across local lakes, ponds, and rivers. The surrounding area features three wilderness areas, Buffalo Peaks, Collegiate Peaks, and Sangre De Cristo, and sits near Browns Canyon National Monument.
