Fairplay Visitor Center

The Town of Fairplay manages its own Visitor Center, serving as the local hub for information and special events in Park County. The center’s digital calendar highlights a year-round schedule of community gatherings, from the June 6 Huck Finn Day free fishing event at Fairplay Beach to the July 24-26 Burro Days Celebration, which features burro, dog, llama, and outhouse races alongside a parade and live music. Summer programming includes the TGIFairplay Free Concert Series on 5th Street, with performances by artists like Hazel Miller and Little Moses Jones, as well as the Silverheels Trail Runs and Sheep Mountain Trail Runs hosted by Human Potential Running Series. The 77th Burro Days event and the Park County Fair, featuring 4-H projects and a rodeo, draw significant local attention. Autumn brings the Fairplay Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show to the River Park Event Site, followed by the 3rd Annual Fairplay Fall Festival with its pumpkin patch and vendor market. Winter celebrations include the A Real Colorado Christmas Festival of Trees and Holiday Bazaar in December, while spring offers Town Clean-Up events for residents. The center supports these activities by providing resources and coordinating with local organizations such as Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the Boys and Girls Club of the High Rockies, and South Park City Museum.
