Gunnison National Forest

The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests offer a wide range of recreational activities, including downhill skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, hiking, and fishing, across over 3 million acres of land. The forests feature numerous trails, scenic byways, and wilderness areas, with elevation ranges from 5,800 to 14,309 feet. Visitors can access forest maps, publications, and permits for activities such as collecting firewood or commercial filming to help plan their trip.
