Modern Mountain Lookout

The Mestaa'ėhehe Mountain Fire Lookout is a historic fire lookout located in the Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forests, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and plains. The lookout, built in the 1940s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, is available for overnight stays and can accommodate up to four people, with amenities including an electric stove, refrigerator, and heat. Visitors can enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, scenic driving, and other recreational activities in the surrounding area, and must bring their own water and pack out all trash upon departure.
