Resting along Highway 149 between mile markers 56 and 57, this two-bedroom, one-bathroom property sleeps four guests. An expansive deck provides valley vistas, while propane powers the stove, refrigerator, hot water, lighting, and heating. A fireplace adds warmth during nights that can dip into the 30s, with daytime temperatures averaging around 70 degrees. Fresh mountain spring water and a caretaker available by phone support the off-grid experience. Pets are welcome with prior approval, a leash, and a small fee. Guests can fish in private ponds and streams or hike local trails to spot elk and moose. Although ATVs are not permitted on the ranch, nearby trailheads offer adventure. The cabin includes cookware, dishes, and cleaning supplies, with grocery restocking best done in Lake City or Creede. Hydration is advised to adjust to the altitude.
