Little Texas: Beaver Creek Independence Day Celebration

Celebrating 38 years together and 35 years on country radio, 90s country music icon Little Texas has made a lasting mark with 12 Top 20 singles, including three consecutive No. 1 hits: "What Might Have Been," "My Love," and the unofficial Texas anthem, "God Blessed Texas." Since their debut album, 'First Time for Everything,' in 1991, Little Texas has ascended to become one of country music's top groups. Known for their hard work and dedication, they've sold over 7 million albums, earning the title of the "Hardest Working Band in Country Music." Their pivotal sophomore album, 'Big Time,' certified double-platinum, produced No. 1 singles and garnered multiple Grammy, CMA, and ACM nominations, winning the ACM for Top Vocal Group in 1994.

In 2024, Billboard named "God Blessed Texas" as No. 1 on their list of Best Country Songs featuring Texas in the Title. Adding to the song's legacy, country sensation Lainey Wilson opened the 2024 ACM Awards with her rendition of "God Blessed Texas." Embracing the resurgence of 90s country nostalgia, Little Texas continues to tour nationally, bringing their iconic sound to fans old and new.

Thirty years ago, a Nashville band with a country rock sound was lighting up the charts with songs written, recorded, and performed exclusively by the members themselves. With their debut album, First Time for Everything, Little Texas burst onto the scene with five top 20 hits. Nearly 3,000 shows and 8 albums later (with over 7 million units sold), it’s easy to understand why the group earned the moniker “Hardest Working Band in Country Music,” and became one of the top vocal bands in the business. Little Texas racked up 11 top 20 singles (with 3 Top 10s and 3 No. 1s) and received multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM nominations, winning the ACM for Top Vocal Group in 1994.

Little Texas has continued to tour constantly and released an independent studio album in 2015, Young for a Long Time. The group consists of original band members Porter Howell (lead guitar and lead vocals), Dwayne O’Brien (rhythm guitar and vocals), Duane Propes (bass and vocals) and drummer Del Gray. In 2022, Little Texas are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their debut album, First Time For Everything.
