slenderbodies make music that feels both familiar and otherworldly — hushed yet deeply impactful. Praised by Billboard for their “intimacy and daring” and by The Line of Best Fit for their “genre-blurring” sound, the California duo of Max Vehuni and Benji Cormack blend silky falsettos, textured guitars, and hypnotic grooves into an atmosphere all their own.
After their breakout single “anemone” (90M+ streams) and debut album komorebi (2019), slenderbodies became synonymous with breezy, immersive indie pop. Recorded in the Mendocino woods, komorebi explored life, death, and self-discovery through songs like “belong” and “moods.” During the pandemic, the pair collaborated with Crooked Colours, Tim Atlas, and Joey Pecoraro on are we?, followed by 2022’s expansive simple shapes.
Over seven years, they’ve shared stages with Louis the Child, Still Woozy, Milky Chance, and Passion Pit, performing at festivals including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Electric Forest.
Now, slenderbodies return with their fourth album, the sugar machine (2025) — an energetic, nostalgic dive into the wistfulness of lost youth and the fleeting euphoria of remembering who you were. It’s a vibrant new chapter for a duo forever chasing beauty in the blur between dreams and reality.
