PROJECT BACKGROUND: This project is the third phase of implementation as part of the Core Area Improvements Project, as outlined in the 2020 Town Parks Master Plan: Phase 1: Skatepark Phase 2: Warming hut and washstand facility Phase 3: Warner Field fencing & safety netting & oval improvements ? Part 1 (Fall 2026): Warner Field fencing & safety netting, storm drainage, electrical work & site work Part 2 (Spring 2027): TBD Phase 4: Vendor / festival staging area PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The current phase of this project received all required design approvals from the Parks & Recreation Commission and Historic and Architectural Review Commission. The improvements are designed, meet all applicable codes and standards, and a building permit has been issued. Construction documents are complete and are available upon request. It should be noted that the Town of Telluride resides at roughly 8,750 feet above sea level in the mountains. Submitter should be familiar with and consider issues, such as weather and climate at elevation in preparing proposal. The Town anticipates that site preparation and construction for Part 1 will take place during the fall and winter of 2026 with the project commencing on September 23, 2026 and project completion by December 18, 2026. A topographical survey was conducted in 2025 after completion of the Warming Hut and Washstand and is available upon request.
