A J Brink Outfitters at Sweetwater Lake Resort

A.J. Brink Outfitters has been a family-owned fixture in Gypsum since 1975, operating as the outfitter of record for Sweetwater Lake Resort. Situated 72 acres at 7,700 feet along the Colorado River Road, this operation offers custom horseback rides tailored to group sizes and experience levels. Guests can choose from pony rides, one-hour scenic loops around the lake, or all-day excursions into the Flat Tops Wilderness. The business also provides wilderness pack trips and guided hunts, including drop camps in both the Flat Tops and Rawah Wilderness. Additional offerings include cave rides, fly-fishing trips, and wine and cheese rides. The resort features a restaurant known for homemade pie and large chicken fried steaks, with views of the lake and local hummingbirds. Next-generation owners Jim and Adrienne Brink continue the tradition started by their predecessors, maintaining a herd of well-cared-for horses and mules.
