About
Opened in 1959, Black Canyon Golf Course stands as Montrose’s oldest golf facility, offering an 18-hole experience that spans 6,174 yards from the longest tees. The layout presents a distinct contrast between the par-34 front nine, a park-style, tree-lined design by Joe Francese, and the par-36 back nine, which features deeper bunkers and longer fairways in a links-style setting designed by Byron Coker. The course carries a slope rating of 122 and a 68.3 USGA rating. Beyond the fairways, The Rusty Putter restaurant provides indoor and patio dining, known locally for its hearty food and what guests call the best fries in town. Large-screen TVs display sporting events throughout the venue, and an indoor golf simulator allows visitors to play through one of over 100 virtual courses when the weather turns. We also offer the Black Canyon Card for $55, valid for the remainder of the calendar year, which includes discounted greens fees, savings on range balls and pro shop merchandise, and discounts on meals and draft beer at the restaurant.
