About
Founded in 2007, Blue Pig Gallery occupies the historical J.W. Hugus Building in the center of downtown Palisade, serving as the town’s original art gallery. The 4,000-square-foot space represents more than 90 Colorado artists, displaying their fine art masterpieces alongside 2,200 square feet dedicated to educational workshops for all mediums, ages, and ability levels. The gallery’s name derives from the Chinese Year of the Pig, symbolizing luck, leisure, and prosperity, rather than the truffle-hunting animal. A key feature within the gallery is The Artful Cup, a coffee shop open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. that serves espresso, chai, pastries, Moe’s Bagels, burritos, frappes, teas, and boba. Blue Pig Gallery hosts annual art contests for the Honey Bee Festival, Lavender Festival, and Palisade Peach Festival, and organizes the Art & Chocolate Walk and PAV Art Installations.
