Campfire Ranch Red Mountain Pass

Seven years of serving guests in the San Juan Mountains backcountry defined our time at Campfire Ranch Red Mountain Pass. We operated as a luxury hut trip destination, offering accessible backcountry experiences that required no expert skills to enjoy. Guests arrived via a short shuttle from the parking lot, leaving their heavy gear behind to relax in comfortable beds and enjoy fresh views. Our hut host, Jack, was central to the experience, known for preparing delicious meals, including standout nightly desserts, and accommodating various dietary restrictions. Visitors skinned in for day tours, skiing fresh snow, and relaxing in a wood-fired sauna after a full day on the mountain. We partnered with local outfitters like Mountain Trip and RIGS Fly Shop to provide guided hiking, fishing, mountain biking, and ice climbing excursions. Our accommodations aimed to make outdoor adventures more enjoyable by providing high-quality food and cozy lodging without the burden of carrying extensive camping equipment. It has been an honor serving our guests, and while we are closing our doors, we remain grateful for the patronage and the unique backcountry experiences we shared in the high alpine.
