Carbondale Arts

Founded in the early 1970s, Carbondale Arts has spent over five decades shaping the cultural identity of the Roaring Fork Valley. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2021, the non-profit organization continues to serve as a central hub for creativity and collaboration among local artists, schools, and businesses. The Launchpad provides affordable, accessible space for movement-based artists and musicians to teach, create, and rehearse, while Rosybelle, the Mobile Maker Bus, delivers subsidized and free arts education directly to communities throughout the valley. The organization supports over 200 creatives within the Carbondale Creative District and administers an Artist Fellowship Program that offers $12,000 in annual funding to help artists develop visions, purchase supplies, or rent studio space. Annual highlights include the Mountain Fair, which features a juried design contest for commemorative t-shirts, and the Bonedale Flea and Roaring Fork Community Record Shows. Carbondale Arts fosters a unique identity for the town by promoting diverse exhibitions, cultural activities, and events that stimulate the local economy.
