Operating as a 501c4 non-profit entity for over two decades, the market supports small local and regional growers, producers, and artisans who sell fresh Western Slope produce and handmade goods directly to residents. Vendors adhere to Evergreen Zero Waste practices, utilizing only compostable dinnerware to minimize environmental impact. The market actively promotes equal access to quality food through its partnership with the USDA-SNAP program, where customers can redeem coupons at the Market Information Booth. Additionally, the Double Up Food Bucks Program, administered by Live Well Colorado, doubles the spending power of EBT cardholders up to $20 per card per day when purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables. Managed by Erica Savard and Miah Cornett, the market functions as a geographical incubator for local produce, aiming to strengthen the region's small farms and businesses while providing educational benefits and direct sales opportunities.
