Carter Park and Pavilion

Four blocks east of Main Street, Carter Park and Pavilion anchors the south end of High Street as one of Breckenridge’s most utilized year-round recreational hubs. The site balances active sports with social gathering space, featuring four hard tennis courts, lined pickleball courts with equipment provided, sand volleyball courts, and youth baseball diamonds. A newly renovated, fully fenced dog park includes a separate area for smaller breeds, while a sledding hill draws visitors during the winter months. The central draw is the pavilion itself: an indoor heated gathering area equipped with a gas fireplace and a large gas grill, opening onto a patio that frames views of the Ten Mile Range. This space serves as a rental venue for weddings, meetings, birthday parties, and private sports events, with booking available up to 12 months in advance. Adjacent to Breckenridge Elementary School, the facility also offers access to the school playground during limited daytime hours from September through May. Public restrooms are heated and available for use. The park operates on a mix of free public access for courts and fields during specific seasonal windows and reserved rental periods for the pavilion and certain courts, with resident and non-profit rates available upon proof of status.
