We purchased Chopwood Mercantile in 2021, taking the reins from original founders Travis and Lisa, whose habit of rescuing mustangs and dogs set the tone for our approach to retail. Located at the top of Elk Avenue in Crested Butte, we operate as an outdoor lifestyle epicenter that merges decades of mountain retail experience with the concept of a public house. Our shop carries curated gear from brands such as Patagonia to Filson, catering specifically to outdoor enthusiasts and those interested in hiking and camping. Beyond stocking unique gear, we provide guidance to foster experiences in wild places through our blog and "Ask a Local" section.
