Colorado West Performing Arts Company

Since its 2022 founding, Colorado West Ballet has established itself as the sole professional ballet company on Colorado’s Western Slope. The ensemble delivers four full-length productions annually, anchored by the seasonal staple The Nutcracker. Leadership falls under Executive Director Theresa Kahl and Artistic Director Angie DeWolf, who curate a cast of dancers drawn from global and local talent pools. Performances rotate through Grand Junction venues like the Avalon Theatre and Colorado Mesa University’s AsteriaTheatre, while also traveling to Telluride, Montrose, Crested Butte, and Rifle. Beyond the stage, the organization executes extensive educational outreach, engaging over 20,000 students and community members each year through school programs and community events designed to make high-level dance accessible across diverse neighborhoods.
