About
Built in the 1920s on the outskirts of Silverton, our historic Columbine Roadhouse sits surrounded by the San Juan National Forest, offering the closest lodging to Ice Lake and Island Lake. We purchased the property in 2017 and have dedicated ourselves to maintaining its authentic mountain character. Our accommodations range from clean, simple rooms featuring antique furniture and cozy blankets to unique tent decks for a more rustic experience. Guests appreciate the comfortable mattresses, private restrooms with heated toilet seats, and the common area kitchen that makes extended stays easier. Beyond the rooms, we provide oversized parking and easy access to winter skiing and summer adventures like hiking, fishing, and hunting. We are just minutes from Silverton, Ouray, and Telluride, making us a convenient base for exploring the region's trails and attractions. The property also features a fruit stand during the season and hosts events like Gator Fest, complete with live music and Cajun food. A friendly cat named Birdie often greets guests, adding to the charming, old-fashioned atmosphere. Seek a quiet retreat or a hub for outdoor activity, and we look forward to welcoming you to our slice of the San Juans.
