About
We have been crafting premium wines in Olathe since 1994, growing our own grapes across 22.5 acres of vineyard land that started with just five acres in 1995. Keith and I run this Old World style family winery, producing reds like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Lemberger under our Cottonwood Cellars label. We age these reds in French and American oak barrels for one to two years, followed by at least a year of bottle aging. Our Chardonnay is fermented sur-lees in American oak, while our off-dry whites are slowly fermented in temperature-controlled tanks to preserve their fruit flavors. Visitors can explore our four tasting rooms, housed in a building we added in 1998 for barrel aging and storage. We also produce wines under The Olathe Winery label, offering a wide selection of reds including Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, and Gewurztramer.
