Thirty-amp electric hookups, shared water, and an RV dump station define the infrastructure at Dakota Terraces Campground, one of three distinct camping areas within Ridgway State Park. Situated along Highway 550 in the San Juan Mountains, the site hosts nearly 300 campsites designed for RVs, trailers, and tent campers. Visitors utilize camper service buildings equipped with showers, flush restrooms, and seasonal laundry facilities. During the winter months, selected loops remain plowed and reservable, granting access to heated shower and restroom facilities for those seeking a snowy retreat. The campground also includes ADA-accessible sites and dedicated walk-in tent options for those preferring a closer connection to the outdoors. Leashed dogs, service animals, and horses are permitted within the grounds. The setting offers views of distant snowcapped peaks and red wildflowers framing the reservoir, creating a serene backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts. All sites require a park pass, with daily vehicle passes ranging from $10 to $15. The campground operates year-round, ensuring accessibility for visitors regardless of the season.
