About
A three-story playground anchors this 40-acre recreational hub at the north end of Rifle along State Highway 13. Deerfield Park evolved from a modest collection of fields into a comprehensive regional facility, with development reflecting decades of strategic investment. The expansion included the Bookcliff and Hogback softball fields, constructed in 1997 with Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) grant support, followed by the Anvil Points soccer field in 1998. The landscape features six baseball and softball diamonds, two soccer pitches, and a dedicated High School baseball field known as Cooper, which emerged from a 2004 partnership involving Garfield County, the local school district, and the grassroots "Field of Dreams" organization. A prominent three-story playground anchors the site, installed in 2006 with funding from the Department of Local Affairs and local Penny Sales Tax. Visitors also utilize the basketball court, picnic shelters, and an open space dog park. The facility operates daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering ample parking and restrooms for families and athletes alike.
