Dinner Station Campground

A historic stop along an old stagecoach route from Aspen, Dinner Station Campground rests in the Upper Taylor Park area near Almont. The site sits next to the Taylor River within the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests, offering campsites that face open views of the Sawatch Mountains while bordered by ponderosa and lodgepole pine trees. Each single-family campsite includes a picnic table and a campfire ring, supported by vault toilets, drinking water, and trash collection services. Anglers can access the river directly from the campground to cast for rainbow and brook trout, while nearby trails like Doctor Park, Taylor River, and Taylor Vista cater to off-road and mountain biking enthusiasts. Just under five miles away, Taylor Park Reservoir provides boating, fishing, and swimming options with a boat ramp and rentals available. The campground operates on a Recreation Use Fee basis for standard single-family sites and enforces standard fire restrictions, with opening and closing dates determined by weather conditions.
