Elk Ridge Campground

Elk Ridge Campground stands as one of three camping areas within Ridgway State Park, offering a mix of RV and tent accommodations on the Western Slope. The site features 30-amp electric hookups, an RV dump station, and shared water access for those traveling with larger rigs. Ten scenic walk-in tent sites provide a quieter alternative for visitors seeking a more direct connection to the outdoors. All guests have access to service buildings equipped with showers, flush restrooms, and seasonal laundry facilities.

During the winter months, select loops within Elk Ridge remain open to guests. These sites are plowed and reservable, allowing campers to enjoy heated shower and restroom facilities even when temperatures drop. The campground welcomes leashed dogs, service animals, and horses, making it a versatile choice for various travelers. With nearly 300 campsites across the broader park, Elk Ridge provides a comfortable base for exploring the San Juan Mountains and the nearby Uncompahgre River.
