Guided horseback rides through the San Juan National Forest in Mancos, Colorado, have been our family’s craft for over 25 years. We specialize in taking guests of all ages and skill levels on trails that wind through picturesque piñion-juniper forests, offering gradual elevation changes and sweeping mountain views. Our professional wranglers lead small to medium groups, ensuring a calm and safe experience on seasoned horses that are particularly well-suited for beginners. We offer a variety of ride durations to fit your schedule, starting with a 30-minute introductory ride for those new to the saddle, extending to 1.5-hour and 2-hour excursions for those wishing to spend more time immersed in the scenery. For children under 7 or riders who prefer not to guide their own mount, we provide hand-led pony rides. Located near Mesa Verde and just outside of Durango, our rides are designed to be family-safe and beginner-friendly. We require long pants and closed-toe shoes for safety, and we accommodate groups up to a 250-pound weight limit.
