Grand County Emergency Medical Services Station 1 anchors emergency care in Granby, operating as one of four county stations alongside locations in Fraser, Grand Lake, and Kremmling. The organization traces its origins to a volunteer crew more than 50 years ago, evolving into an operation staffed by 41 paid, full-time professionals. These team members work rotating shifts to ensure life-saving point-of-care services and emergency pre-hospital transport are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Responders answer calls from residents at home as well as those in the backcountry, providing both emergent and non-emergency medical transportation. The service handles critical incidents around the clock, maintaining a constant presence to support the community's health needs regardless of the hour.
