Three Rivers Resort

Founded in 1914 as Watzling’s Resort, our historic grounds on the Taylor River have evolved from four rustic cabins serving local miners into a sprawling 61-cabin and home destination. We sit at the confluence of the Taylor and East Rivers, just a short walk from where they form the Gunnison River’s headwaters. Our property offers lodge rooms above our general store, alongside one-to-six-bedroom cabins and vacation homes that feature private hot tubs and fireplaces. Three Rivers Outfitting provides experienced guides for whitewater rafting, fly fishing, and kayaking, while our on-site Orvis Fly Shop caters to anglers. We also operate a restaurant and dance hall, plus an outdoor pavilion for gatherings. Our concierge desk assists with booking activities ranging from downhill skiing at Crested Butte and Monarch Mountain to 55 kilometers of groomed cross-country trails at Crested Butte Nordic. Winter guests often choose us for ice fishing or snowmobiling, while summer visitors explore the Gunnison National Forest right in our backyard. Located between Gunnison and Crested Butte, we are easily accessible by car or plane, offering a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area. With 12 RV sites and over a century of history, we welcome thousands of guests each year to experience the peace and beauty of mountain living.
