Harvey Gap State Park

The Grand Hogback ridge marks the edge of the Rocky Mountains along the south end of a 160-acre reservoir at Harvey Gap State Park. Sitting at an elevation of 6,400 feet, this 304-acre day-use area is known for clean water and shaded picnic sites. Visitors engage in hiking, boating, swimming, and picnicking, with a boat ramp positioned on the east side of the lake. Winter transforms the landscape for cross-country skiing and ice fishing. Nature seekers can observe waterfowl, shorebirds, raptors, and pinyon-juniper woodlands. Although the park itself is day-use only, overnight camping is available approximately six miles west at Rifle Falls State Park and Rifle Gap State Park. The Rifle Gap Visitor Center serves all three parks, providing first aid, public restrooms, a gift shop, and exhibits on fishing and boating conditions. Daily vehicle passes range from $10 to $17 depending on residency, with various annual and lifetime options available for Colorado residents.
