About
Perched at 8,600 feet within the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests, Lottis Creek Campground offers a high-altitude retreat for outdoor enthusiasts. This newly remodeled facility, completed in 2012, features 47 single-family campsites and one group site capable of accommodating 50 people with ten vehicles. Most sites provide electric hookups, picnic tables, and campfire rings, while the shade of surrounding lodgepole pines adds comfort to the stay. Located on the shores of Lottis Creek and down the Taylor River Canyon, the campground serves as a base for anglers, hikers, bikers, and four-wheeling enthusiasts. Just two miles south lies the Fossil Ridge Wilderness Area, where hikers and equestrians can explore trails without mechanized vehicles. To the east, Cumberland Pass Road provides access to numerous four-wheel drive routes. Nearby attractions include Taylor Park Reservoir, which offers boating, fishing, swimming, boat rentals, and a boat ramp. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis for standard sites, which require booking in person and allow only one camping unit per site. Late arrivals are not considered no-shows until 24 hours after the check-in time, ensuring site availability. Generators and LPG fires are permitted under current Stage 2 fire restrictions.
