Mayflower Gold Mill Tour

The Mayflower Mill, a National Historic Landmark, offers self-guided tours in the summer months, allowing visitors to explore a complete processing mill and learn about the history of mining in the San Juan Mountains. The mill, which operated from 1930 to 1991, features original equipment still in working order and showcases the techniques used to extract gold, silver, and base metals from hard rock ores. Visitors can witness firsthand the gravity separation and selective flotation methods used to recover metals from the ore.
