Chef Kelsy Peabody’s culinary journey began in Birmingham, Michigan, leading through a culinary degree from the Art Institute of Colorado and a stagier role at Flagstaff House above Boulder, before she built Bounty for the Belly food truck in Durango. That success paved the way for Mill Street Bistro, which opened in the summer of 2019 to bring a down-to-earth fine dining experience to Bayfield. We specialize in elegant comfort food, often called "fancy comfort," utilizing farm-to-table principles and local ingredients to create healthy portions. Our menu features crowd-pleasers like mac and cheese for the kids, served during our dinner hours from Wednesday through Saturday, 4:30 to 8 pm. Guests can dine in with walk-ins or reservations, grab takeout with a quick 15-to-20-minute turnaround, or hire us for custom catering events held either inside our restaurant or on our garden patio. After work, Happy Hour offers a perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine or craft beer. We pride ourselves on high-quality service and a comfortable environment, ensuring every guest feels welcome whether they are celebrating a special occasion or enjoying a casual meal.
