Montrose Recreation Center

Formed in 1956, the Montrose Recreation District serves the eastern half of Montrose County with year-round programming and facility management. Our main hub at 16350 Woodgate Road features a comprehensive indoor walking and jogging track, a lap pool with a slide and diving boards, and fitness areas equipped with free weights and machines. Members enjoy access to basketball, volleyball, and racquetball courts, alongside a dedicated climbing wall and a game center stocked with pool, foosball, ping pong, and shuffleboard. Families utilize our indoor playground and child watch center while adults engage in sports leagues that shift with the seasons. We distribute a recreation activity guide three times per year, in December, April, and August, to outline these changing programs for all age groups. For those seeking a new fitness regime, our Flex Rec location at 1309 Mayfly Drive on the Colorado Outdoors campus offers a flexible membership option for just $35 per month. Youth West African Drum and Dance Camp, Recreational Swim Team training, and pickleball clinics are just a few of the opportunities available. Our 30 core staff members and 304 part-time staff are ready to help you join a league or simply enjoy the facilities. We are proud to be developing the new Montrose Field House, with construction slated to begin in mid-2026 and completion expected by late 2027, ensuring continued expansion of our community resources.
