New Castle Area

Established in 1905 as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, this Forest Service office in New Castle manages a vast portion of the National Forest System. The agency’s local operations support sustainable management, conservation, and stewardship across 154 national forests and 20 grasslands. Employees handle critical fire management duties and assist communities in improving conditions for both urban and rural areas. The office serves as a hub for diverse recreational activities available on the 193 million acres it oversees.
