Established in 1973, Mountain Trip operates as an AMGA-accredited guide service based in Telluride and Ouray, Colorado, leading guided climbing expeditions and mountaineering courses to remote peaks around the world. The company holds the distinction of being the longest continually operating Denali guide service, having led climbers on North America’s highest peak since 1976. Beyond international objectives like Mount Everest, Aconcagua, Kilimanjaro, and the Seven Summits, the team provides local expertise across Colorado’s diverse terrain. Clients can book half- or full-day rock climbing trips on crags in Telluride, Ouray, Montrose, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Unaweep Canyon, and the Front Range. The guide service also specializes in Via Ferrata experiences, including the Telluride and Ouray routes, as well as the Via Ferrata Triple Crown. Additional offerings include backcountry skiing, avalanche education, ice climbing instruction at Ouray Ice Park, and technical ascents of Colorado 13ers and 14ers such as Mount Sneffels and Mount Wilson. What began as a small Alaskan mountaineering school has evolved into a globally recognized expedition company built on experience and education.
