Perched at 12,050 feet atop Chair 2, our Ptarmigan Roost Café serves as the ultimate high-altitude pit stop for skiers and snowboarders navigating the Loveland slopes. We operate daily from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm, offering a warm refuge with a wood-burning fireplace where guests can dry gloves on the wire racks and enjoy the contrast between the cold mountain air and our cozy interior. Our menu focuses on hearty, affordable comfort food, featuring juicy burgers and bowls of homemade chili that provide the energy needed for the afternoon run. Beer and wine are available to complement the meal, and non-alcoholic options like hot cocoa and warm cider keep the whole family satisfied. A large deck extends our seating area, providing spectacular, unobstructed views of the surrounding ski area and the Continental Divide. Restrooms are located in an adjacent building, ensuring convenience for visitors taking a break from the lifts. This setting offers the perfect place to relax and warm up before heading back out onto the snow.
