Cecil and Patricia Farnsworth built River Village RV Park as a secluded retreat just outside Paonia, where the North Fork of the Gunnison River cuts through the West Elk Mountains. This family-run campground sits at the base of the range, offering guests a quiet escape from the bustle while remaining minutes from town amenities and local wineries. The park features pull-through sites equipped with astro turf, paver stone patios, wrought iron furniture, and fireplaces. Thoughtful landscaping with rock work and walking paths surrounds the sites, which are currently expanding. A dog park is under development to better accommodate guests' pets. The environment supports wildlife sightings, with deer often visible in the adjacent orchard during mornings. Proximity to Big B's Delicious Orchard allows for easy access to music and brews. The park enforces a 2-night minimum stay and is restricted to guests aged 14 and above. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, 24-hour front desk service, and ample parking. The setting provides gorgeous mountain views and a tidy, well-maintained atmosphere that guests describe as a home away from home.
