Perched at 8,600 feet along the banks of the Taylor River, Rosy Lane Campground sits 17 miles north of Gunnison in Taylor River Canyon. This single-family campground, part of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests, offers a serene setting shaded by lodgepole pine and aspen trees. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table, campfire ring, and potable drinking water, while Site 008 provides 15-Amp electric hookups. The calm stretch of the Taylor River invites rafting and kayaking, with anglers casting for rainbow and brook trout directly from the grounds. Nearby access points include the Fossil Ridge Wilderness Area, reachable via the Summerville and South Lottis trailheads, as well as off-road trails like Doctor Park Trail and Taylor Vista Trail. Just 12 miles away, Taylor Park Reservoir offers boating, fishing, and swimming with boat rentals available. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis for standard sites and allows horseback riding and wildlife viewing amidst its wooded surroundings.
