Routt Distillery

Born in 2022, Routt Distillery produces small-batch whiskey, gin, and vodka directly in Steamboat Springs. The family-owned operation distills every spirit from scratch using Colorado-grown grains sourced from local farmers and maltsters. Their tasting room, open Friday and Saturday from 1 to 6 pm, offers samples of their spirits alongside crafted cocktails. The menu features refreshing gin fizzes and robust whiskey highballs, designed to highlight the unique profiles of their house-made spirits. Owner Brad, holding a PhD in Economic Geography from UC Davis, leads the distilling process with a focus on local ingredients. A key sustainability feature involves sending spent grain to Hayden Fresh Farm, where it feeds pigs and chickens. The facility sits just a short drive from downtown Steamboat, providing mountain views for visitors.
