Jake Schellenberg, who spent fifteen years dirtbiking in the area before settling here during a cross-country RV journey with his wife Robin and four children, purchased the property in 2021. Inside, ceiling decor features treasures salvaged from the valley dating back to the early 1900s, connecting current guests to Pitkin’s storied past. Four minimalist tiny houses offer a less-is-more retreat, positioned so guests can hear the sound of a rambling creek outside their front door. The on-site bar and grill serves as a gathering spot for food and drinks after days exploring the area’s pristine wilderness.
