Telluride Helitrax

Founded by four ski partners and operating for more than 40 years, Telluride Helitrax delivers helicopter skiing and snowboarding in the San Juan Mountains surrounding Telluride, Colorado. Based out of the Peaks Resort and Spa, the company guides advanced through expert skiers and riders into over 200 square miles of untracked terrain. Most runs occur above tree line, accessing high alpine basins, cirques, and couloirs where snow remains light and views stretch endlessly. The fleet includes Eurocopter S350 B3e and Bell 407 HP helicopters, selected for their high-altitude performance. Single-day trips typically involve up to four groups of four people, totaling approximately 10,000 to 14,000 vertical feet across six runs. Expert guides, hand-selected for their backcountry experience and snow safety knowledge, tailor drop-off locations to match specific skiing preferences. Beyond the Telluride base, the regional program extends heli-ski tours to Aspen, Vail, and Steamboat, often arranging private fixed-wing flights to connect guests directly to the operation.
