Telluride Outside

Bill White launched Telluride Outside in 1984 with his first commercial rafting trip on the San Miguel River, establishing a home-grown guide service that has evolved into a multi-activity operation. The company currently offers guided fly fishing on four rivers, including the Gunnison, San Miguel, and Dolores, alongside half-day 4WD tours to alpine passes, ghost towns, and waterfalls. Their fleet of specialized vehicles supports class II-III rafting on the San Miguel, family-friendly stand-up paddleboard instruction, and snowmobile tours reintroduced in 2012 after acquiring Dave's Mountain Tours. Since May 2001, owners Tom Craddock, John Duncan, and Troy Youngfleish have steered the business, adding West Slope native Kris Knackendoffel and Ron Solomon to the guiding team. Beyond leisure trips, Telluride Outside provides door-to-door transportation for weddings at Telluride Ski Mountain venues and supports film productions by transporting up to 11 passengers and substantial equipment into remote backcountry terrain. The company handles corporate groups, family reunions, and high-profile clients requiring discretion, with all-inclusive pricing that covers guide gratuities.
