About

Built in 1907 as the Zanoni-Pedroni/Florence Saloon, The Bent Elbow Hotel stands on Silverton’s Notorious Blair Street, a block from the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad stop. Originally constructed for Ernest Zanoni and Louis Pedroni, the building survived a fire that claimed its neighbor, the original Bent Elbow saloon, and has operated continuously as an inn since 1968. Locals call it simply "The Bent," a nod to its history as a hub for skijoring competitions, daily gunfights, and melodramas that entertained crowds arriving by train. Today, the boutique hotel blends Victorian charm with modern comfort, offering guests a peaceful retreat at 9,318 feet elevation. The upstairs rooms provide a quiet escape from the lively gold and silver mining town below, while free Wi-Fi, on-site parking, and a 24-hour front desk ensure contemporary convenience. Whether visitors come for hiking in the San Juan Mountains or skiing, this historic lodging serves as a central base for adventure seekers and history buffs alike.
