The Coffee Cowboy

A small green cart stationed at the foot of the Telluride Gondola has been pulling hand-pulled espresso shots and serving hot breakfast wrapped in foil for more than three decades. Hailey and Scott took over operations in November 2020, preserving the spot’s reputation as a local hub where stories unfold under bluebird skies. The business operates two distinct spaces: the fast-service cart for quick coffee and breakfast, and a larger General Store that functions as part café and cultural center. The General Store offers ample seating, allowing locals to work or tourists to slow down while enjoying the new signature Coffee Cowboy Blend. This 50/50 mix of Guatemalan and Ethiopian beans is described as balanced, sweet, and fruit-forward. Beyond the counter, the shop sells cowboy mugs, hoodies, hats, and other mountain gear through its online store. The Cart remains a morning ritual for those catching the first chair, while the General Store serves as a place to catch up with friends or plan the day ahead.
