Three Rivers Resort and Outfitting

Established in 1914 as Watzling’s Resort, Three Rivers Resort and Outfitting sits on the Taylor River in historic Almont, Colorado, just a short walk from where the Taylor and East Rivers converge to form the Gunnison River. The property has evolved from four rustic cabins and a general store serving local miners into a sprawling 61-cabin resort owned by the Schumacher family. Guests choose from lodge rooms above the general store, traditional cabins, or vacation homes featuring private hot tubs and fireplaces. The on-site outfitting operations include an Orvis Fly Shop and dedicated guide services for whitewater rafting, fly fishing, and kayaking on the nearby rivers. A concierge desk assists with booking winter activities such as downhill skiing at Crested Butte Mountain Resort and Monarch Mountain, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. The resort also maintains a general store, a restaurant, a dance hall, and an outdoor pavilion, all situated within easy reach of the Gunnison National Forest.
