Thunder River Theatre Company

Our 1995 founding in the Roaring Fork Valley began with an 18-wheeler hauling sets and lights between Aspen and Glenwood Springs, a journey that culminated in our permanent Carbondale facility opening on New Year’s Eve 2005. Now in our 31st season, we present professional-quality theatre that ranges from beloved classics to contemporary works like Every Brilliant Thing and The Revolutionists. Our mission explores the human experience through inspired theatre and innovative artistry, offering audiences a diverse lineup that includes comedy improv, musical cabaret, and new work development. We foster artistic exploration for future generations through robust education programs and engage the community with impactful conversation and collaborative partnerships. From the stage to the classroom, we strive to awaken the bond between storyteller and audience, delivering daring and unexpected performances that challenge and inspire.
