Tony, a native of northern New Mexico, grew up exploring the spectacular wilderness in southwestern Colorado and visiting the Northern Rockies. He began photography to capture these awesome vistas, drawing inspiration from a childhood mentor who taught him about art through galleries of Santa Fe and Renaissance masters. His work presents scenes as they actually occurred, limiting enhancements to common film darkroom capabilities without adding or removing objects. Tony spends countless hours in nature, not behind a computer, capturing gallery-worthy images of wild animals in their natural habitats. He does not hire captive animals; his images result from years of learning, watching, and taking pictures in areas where wildlife remains wild.
