Travis Colbert’s journey to Gunnison began with a cup of wild-harvested, pan-roasted coffee in the Southern Philippines, a moment that ignited a lifelong obsession with the bean. After moving to Colorado in 2005, Travis honed his craft as a production manager in Minturn and later co-owned a roaster and café in Leadville before settling here. Today, Tributary Coffee Roasters stands as a customer-focused service-driven roaster, coffee bar, and café at 120 N Main St, open daily from 7 AM to 4 PM. The name reflects our belief that we are all connected by water; from the growers high in their watersheds to our small operation in the headwaters of the Colorado River, we value the connections that bring life downstream. Our logo, the American Dipper, hints at this ethos. This bird thrives in healthy, rushing mountain streams, capable of flying and swimming to feed on aquatic insects, much like how we strive to be an integral part of the local ecosystem. We source our coffee thoughtfully and prepare it meticulously, serving every cup with a smile.
