Twin Peaks Campground

Seven 14,000-foot peaks rise above Twin Peaks Campground, anchoring its location within the Pike-San Isabel National Forests. The Salida Ranger District manages more than 440,000 acres of public land here, offering access to Harvard, Tabeguache, Yale, Columbia, Shavano, Princeton, and Antero. Visitors utilize the surrounding terrain for day hikes, mountain biking, road cycling, and e-biking. Water activities include motorized and non-motorized boating, alongside ice fishing, lake fishing, and river stream fishing. The grounds support horseback riding and horse camping, as well as off-highway vehicle trail riding and open area use. Winter sports such as skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, and snowshoeing are available in the colder months. The campground provides free wifi, a 24-hour front desk, wheelchair accessibility, and ample parking. Picnicking areas accommodate both groups and individuals, while interpretive zones allow for wildlife watching and plant viewing. The site serves as a gateway to the Buffalo Peaks, Collegiate Peaks, and Sangre De Cristo wilderness areas, plus Browns Canyon National Monument.
