About

Sculptor Lou Wille founded this family-owned Aspen Main Street hotel in 1970, naming it after the Austrian Tyrol region where early ski resorts began. A colossal eagle made from chrome car bumpers crowns the chimney, setting the tone for a place that blends ski heritage with practical comfort. We offer sixteen spacious rooms featuring full kitchenettes, flexible layouts, and sleeping arrangements for one to five guests, making us Aspen’s most affordable quality lodging option. Located steps from downtown restaurants, shops, and the free ski shuttle, our historic character includes an antique Ski Museum and curated vintage details throughout the property. Our staff remains knowledgeable about the area, ensuring a comfortable stay for the Music Festival or powder days. The Wille family continues the legacy, with sons Andre and Pierre still prioritizing skiing in the surrounding Elk Mountains.
