Since 1905, we have stewarded nearly three million acres of public land stretching from western Kansas to the Continental Divide. Our agency oversees the Pike-San Isabel National Forests alongside the Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands, ensuring sustainable management of natural and cultural resources. In central Colorado, the Salida Ranger District spans over 440,000 acres under District Ranger Sarah Wiener. This region supports seven fourteeners, Harvard, Tabeguache, Yale, Columbia, Shavano, Princeton, and Antero, and encompasses the Buffalo Peaks, Collegiate Peaks, and Sangre De Cristo wilderness areas. We also manage Browns Canyon National Monument within this district. Our workforce of approximately 30,000 employees operates across 154 national forests and 20 grasslands, covering 193 million acres in 43 states. We focus on conservation, recreation, and fire management to keep these landscapes accessible for everyone.
